Winneshiek County residents may use this form to open an account and access online e-book and audiobook resources for free. Library staff will create your account and email you instructions when it's ready.
Residents of other counties should contact their local public library for e-book and digital audiobook access, as library contracts with the content provider prevent us from offering this service to residents outside our own county/ service area.

Ask a Librarian
DPL offers basic reference assistance in person, via email, and over the phone. Library staff attempt to find answers within DPL’s collection, by using the Internet, or by referring the patron to additional informational sources.
DPL does not provide extended research or written research reports. The aim of reference assistance is to help the patron make use of the library’s collection and to use our knowledge of the collection and advanced information-seeking techniques for their benefit.

Borrow From Another Library
Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state. If you can’t find an item in DPL’s collection, ask library staff to help you borrow it from another library.
Requests from other libraries are received and processed each weekday morning. We will lend any item with the exception of those that are on reserve for our own patrons or those that have been published within the past year.
Decorah Public Library patrons are able to borrow books, journal articles, books on tape or CD, music CDs, and DVDs from other libraries throughout the state. When a patron is looking for an item that we don’t own, library staff can generally request it from another library and will often receive it within a few days. The one exception is that most libraries will not lend items that have been published within the past year.
To request an item, fill out a form at the front desk of the library or complete the form below.
