The Only Good Indians Book Discussion

Decorah Public Library is hosting a discussion of Stephen Graham Jones’s book The Only Good Indians in advance of Jones’s visit to Luther College on October 29. The discussion will take place on Thursday, October 1 at 5:30 at Pulpit Rock brewery. Andy Hageman, English Professor at Luther College, will lead the discussion.

The Only Good Indians, winner of the Bram Stoker and Shirley Jackson awards, is a novel of revenge, cultural identity, and the cost of breaking from tradition. It tells the story of four American Indian men from the Blackfeet Nation who are all haunted by a disturbing, deadly event that took place in their youth. Now, years later, they find themselves tracked by an entity bent on revenge, totally helpless as the culture and traditions they left behind catch up to them in a violent, vengeful way.

This event is free and open to the public. Books are available for checkout at Decorah Public Library.
