Physics and art meet to create beautiful, moving masterpieces! We’ll build simple machines to create animated sculptures!
What is an automaton?
An automaton is a moving sculpture toy, which uses simple machines such as hand cranks, gears, and levers. With a basic grasp of physics, and a little artistry, you can create incredible vignettes that seem to move all on their own!
What to expect:
This class is a good fit for tweens and teens with an interest in STEM, art, or just an eye for detail. Fine motor skills are necessary, as well as a bit of patience. The class is an hour long and will provide options for solo and group projects. Participants will be welcome to bring their projects home at the end of the class. ArtHaus is an ADA accessible building with handicap parking onsite.
