Decorah, Iowa – 20 January 2021 –Decorah Public Library staff are pleased to announce that Zach Row-Heyveld has been hired to fill the vacant Administrative Coordinator position.
“Zach brings a really fantastic skillset around crafting and marketing energizing programs that connect people with the arts, as well a fresh perspective and enthusiasm for innovation to his new role,” stated Library Director Kristin Torresdal. “His experience developing collaborative partnerships with local businesses and organizations, and identifying and engaging new audiences through creative programming, are a great fit for our organization and the public that we serve.”
“We were looking for someone who could make significant contributions to the programming and public services elements of the position as well as to the administrative side of things as a member of our management team. Zach clearly demonstrated that he is an adept creator of highly successful, in-demand programming and also that he can be a key player in strategic planning and data collection and analysis,” Torresdal continued.
Row-Heyveld comes to the library with over a decade of experience serving the public through exhibit and collection related programming in museums in Iowa and New York. He spent the last four years working as the Exhibitions Manager at Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum where he created many innovative exhibits and public programs. He’s a life-long library patron, avid reader, and can usually be found in the children’s section of the library with his kids on Saturday mornings. He is thrilled to be joining an organization so dedicated to serving the needs of our community and can’t wait to work alongside the passionate and energetic library staff as they build the next phase of the DPL.
