Word Salad

December 17, 7 pm. Sign-up for performers begins at 6:45
Pulpit Rock Events Room
Presented by: ArtHaus and Decorah Public Library
Hosted by Holly Moore
Free and open to the public

This special event, formerly hosted by local writer and comedian June Melby, promises a night where local voices come alive. In line with Melby’s original tagline, “locally sourced and sometimes fresh,” we aim to spotlight the diverse range of talents and perspectives that thrive in our community.

Participants will have the opportunity to take the stage and share their original works, be it poetry, short stories, or excerpts from their writings. The theme for this month’s Word Salad is “Drift/Drifting.” Readers will be limited to three-minute time slots to allow as many people to participate as possible. Whether you are a seasoned writer or a first-time performer, we welcome all to express their creativity in a supportive and engaging atmosphere.

Listeners can look forward to an evening filled with compelling narratives and mesmerizing performances that reflect the rich tapestry of our local culture, but we really try not to take ourselves too seriously. It’s a chance to connect with fellow literature enthusiasts, discover new voices, and celebrate the art of writing.

We encourage everyone, from aspiring authors to avid readers, to join us for this night of literary exploration and community spirit. Let’s come together to support and cherish the vibrant literary scene of Decorah.
