Decorah Community Prairie Butterfly Garden

Celebrate books, walking, and being outdoors with our “Up in the Garden…” Bookwalk Kick-off Party.  A BookWalk is a fun way to read while enjoying the outdoors. This bookwalk will feature “Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt” by Kate Messner. The BookWalk is free, open to the public, and does not require registration. The story is available in both English and Spanish.

This celebration will feature snacks, a craft, and an opportunity for families to walk through the bookwalk at their own pace.  Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Thank-you to Friends of Decorah Public Library for funding the books for this walk and to Decorah Parks and Recreation and Decorah Public Schools for their collaboration in making this event happen. 

What to expect:

This program is designed to be informal and fun.  Participants can come for part or all of the allotted time and work at their own pace.  We understand that in a multi-age setting that attention spans will vary and welcome you to participate at the level that feels appropriate.
