DESCRIPTION:Decorah Public Library and ArtHaus are pleased to announce the next film for Decorah Public Cinema. Is God Is will be screened on Friday, August 14 at 8 PM in the library’s mezzanine. \nDecorah Public Cinema screens independent, award winning, and foreign films on the second Friday of each month, creating a space for the community to gather and enjoy thought-provoking films in a relaxed, welcoming environment. All screenings are free and open to adults 18 and older. \nAugust will feature Is God Is, the directorial debut of Aleshea Harris, adapted from her award winning 2018 play, starring Kara Young, Mallori Johnson, Vivica A. Fox and Sterling Brown.  \nTwo sisters embark on an epic quest for revenge, confronting a charged family history that pushes them to extraordinary lengths. \n“We’re thrilled to partner with ArtHaus to show movies you might not get to see without taking a road trip.” said Zach Row-Heyveld, DPL assistant director. “We know there are a lot of film fans in the area and we’re excited to fill a gap in what movies people can see in town.” \nComplimentary popcorn and snacks will be available, with a free will donation box to support future programming.
