SUMMARY:Mental Health and Aging
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday, July 16, at 3:30pm staff from area hospitals will present “Mental Health and Aging.” The program will take place in Decorah Public Library’s lower level meeting room. \nOur physical health is often the first thing we think of as we age, but mental and emotional health play critical roles in our wellbeing. Join Mackenzie Adams, Kayla Baxter, and Katie Osmonson to learn from trained providers about what mental health means as we age. Attendees will learn to recognize common challenges in older adulthood, learn to recognize signs of some mental health issues, and learn about local and national resources that can help them. \nMackenzie Adams, MSN, RN is the Program Director for Cresco Senior Life Solutions at Regional Health Services of Howard County. Kayla Baxter, LICSW is the Program Therapist at Veterans Memorial Hospital Senior Life Solutions in Waukon. Katie Osmonson , Office & Patient Coordinator at Veterans Memorial Hospital , Senior Life Solutions in Waukon. \nThis program is free and open to the public. \nConstruction Notice: The parking lot east of the library will be temporarily closed beginning July 9th due to construction and is expected to remain closed until fall. During this time, the drive-through book drop, and lower-level entrance are also closed. We appreciate your patience and look forward to welcoming you through our Main Street entrance.\n
